Ants on Parade

Yay Its another father's Day card!
This time Laurie Wilsons Ant's are the star of the show. These critters are the most adorable ever! And such a dream to colour :)

 

I used a colour palette from the Come and Get it Challenge blog for this card! 
I wanted to keep it clean and simple! Those ants are too adorable to not be the centre of attention hehe :)

I used some glossy varnish on the trumpet and the gold parts of their marching hats which you can see in this picture:




I used my shiny new coloursoft pencils again to colour this along with the baby oil/paper stump technique. This is my new favourite at the moment. I've always wanted to try it and never had the right pencils!

I added the words Dad on to the flag using GIMP. The flag comes blank but with some sentiments which can go in there included! Laurie thinks of everything :)

    I don't like ants in real life (at school we swam in an open-air pool, and I tell you, you don't want to be in a place where red ants live when you're only wearing a swimsuit! They bite!!) but these are just so adorable!! This is such a great card for a man, love the subtle colours and the CAS look!
