Twice in One Week

Evening all! I know two posts in one week! Ha!

Hope you've all had a good week, I am good, sleepy, but I guess that's normal with a 6 week old! :)
I had to make a card to give to my grandma from Luke! I used a sketch from the awesome Chupa at Random Acts of Creativity!

With this in mind I create this card using a cute image from Cuddly Buddly! It was a freebie from Lilyboo I believe, but I got it AGES ago!

The colours look a bit rough in this picture, honestly it looks 'smoother' in real life! It is coloured using distress inks and highlighted with my new favourite tool Glossy Accents :D :D

She seemed to like it and that's all that matters!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Lots of Love

Guess Who?

Evening everyone! Hope you are all keeping well?
My little man is 6 weeks old now and time is flying!
I have been doing the odd card but have not had time to upload them and make them pretty, unfortunately the sketches and other such challenges I have used for inspiration have long passed!

Anyway! One which is still going is the latest sketch at Retro Sketches!

I always love the sketches on this blog but have not had chance to enter the challenges to date!! But this week I have mwahaha and I will, well as long as Luke stays asleep long enough :D

My take on this sketch is a slight modification I replaced the ribbon at the bottom with the oh so trendy flags that I keep seeing everywhere! I saw the most amazing card by Jennifer Roach and fell in love with it!

My attempt this time needs a big modification but I only realised it AFTER I stuck all the fish tails down! They needed some dimension to work so its a little bit flat!

Anyway! Here is my creation!

The paper is a freebie stack from a magazine using Pink Petticoat papers. The image is from Designed 2 Delight called XXX isn't it just adorable!

The sentiment is created in word using Janda Scrapgirl dot font.
The image is coloured using distress ink and the luscious cake icing and the mouse nose and flower are finished off with glossy accents, my new favourite accessory!

I do like how this card turned out, I just think it would have looked so much better had I added dimension to those damn fish tails!!

Anyway I hope the card is close enough to the sketch to qualify and in the meantime I'll leave you with a little picture of my man :)

My Luke :)

until next time!

More Mothers Day

Hi everyone!

... Still no baby! Haha! Its D-Day tomorrow!
I'm still soldiering on with my giant swollen feet and my carpal tunnel hahaha! Pregnancy is so glam :D
I've got another of my mothers day cards I created to show you.

I do apologise for the shockingly poor photography, I was in a bit of a hurry so left it too late and the sun was in the worst position.. excuses, excuses I know :D

I loved this image which was a generous freebie from the wonderful SJ at SJ's Musing. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to make it into a card for my mum :D

The sentiment is created in Word, I can't remember the font sorry!
Its matted onto distress ink-ed paper and then onto some gorgeous Pink Petticoat gingham papers and then onto some more yellow stash and finally a papermania kraft card blank! Phew thats a lot of layers!

Hopefully next time I post it will be with details of my little munchkin who doesn't seem to be in a hurry to leave :D

Take care!
Lots of Love

You're Wonderful

Evening everyone!
Hope you are all keeping well, and sorry for my absence!
I have developed Carpal Tunnel in my wrist so crafting is even harder now boo hoo!
Still no baby! A week til D-Day!

However I do have some cards to share with you!
As it was mother's day in the UK yesterday I managed to create some cards for my mum, my mother-in-law and my grandma-in-law.

This is one for my grandma-in-law.
It uses the beautiful Study of Poppies from Wax Fruit Company.
The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat.

I coloured it using promarkers. Always up for trying new techniques, I was really tired when I was doing it so its a little bit wishy washy, but hey we need to start somewhere!

Believe it or not, the white background has been embossed, annoyingly the sun was very bright and it seems to have washed away a lot of the detail whilst I was trying to photo it in a hurry!

Anyway, I hope to update you all soon with details of the little one!
I do have a few more cards to share in the meantime!

Lots of Love
