I'm late for a very important date!

Evening All!

I am so sorry this is late! eeek! Been having 'puter problems... but I am back now, if not a little late!
We have a new challenge for you this week, its Sunday and you know what that means!

We had so many awesome entrants into our fathers day/ male challenge last week! Dont forget to check back on the challenge blog to see if you were one of lucky winners!

This fortnight we have an eaaaaaaasy peasy challenge for you!

Use Ribbon

Ya ha! And we have the most AMAZING sponsor and prize!
We are sponsored by Crafty Ribbons and one lucky winner could win this:

How freakin' awesome is that!
So onto my creation for this challenge!
As you may know by now... my sister in law is getting married! Have I mentioned that yet ;)
Anyway... she has a few children coming to the wedding and wanted something to entertain them during the wedding breakfast and the speeches!

I saw a really awesome creation by Crafty Anny here. That is what I based my colouring book creation on!

I created 5 little colouring books to keep the little ones occupied! I used the complete set of Murtle and Shelly set from Digi Stamp Boutique HERE. They were awesome fun to colour, and as my sister in law has two tortoises, Esio and Trot hehe! I couldnt resist using the tortoises :)

I thought the personalization made it more unique to them, rather than just a colouring book! Inside there are 20 images taken from the awesome colouring pages website and they will have a little bucket with some crayons and pencils etc. Really sweet!

Here is the inside of one of them.... I wasnt sure what to put on the inside so decided to leave it blank.... I guess my sister can add something if she wants too!

The packs are tied together with white ribbon, they look so sweet all together!

These were incredibly cheap to make! And so much more fun than just buying a colouring book! Woo Hoo

Anyway I do hope you will join us for our challenge! We all love ribbon, right? You've got 2 weeks to create something ribbony! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Moving on to......

Dinner Stars

Evening all!

I hope you all had a great weekend!?
The wedding was lovely! Unfortunately It rained, and rained, and rained, and rained! So we never got to go outside but that didn't ruin the atmosphere! It was truly lovely! So very romantic! The bride looked stunning :)

I'm not sure what they thought of the box as I don't think they got chance to see it before we left, but I hope it didn't get squashed amongst all the presents *eek*

Anyway... onto something new!
A while ago I posted pictures of the mountains of invitations I had been creating for my sister in law's wedding... I can't quite believe but it is now less then a month away!!

It's Hen Party time now, and I have organised a nice dinner evening and needed to send out some invitations for the event. I tried to keep it nice and simple, those invites took forever and I've still got the name cards, table plan and order of services to do ;)

So this is my design! As you can see really simple! I've pixelated the details, sorry about that! I've used my bigshot to create the stars that sit on the top and its just a process of matting and layering the black and red card. The stripes across the bottom are from a set of papers called Ladybug from My Grafico.

Here is the star design on the top of the invites. I had fun using my new machine, and I now have my spellbinders tan embossing mats so yay! As you can see from the picture on the left I can now do pretty embossing too!

Even though I mainly wanted the Big Shot for cutting circles, I know how silly of me! The stars are my favourite and most used die so far :)

So on the right is a picture of all of the invites, ready to be posted out in the morning. I am going to be so sad when my sister in law's wedding has come and gone. Creating all of the stationary has brought back all the lovely memories of creating mine with my mum. Can't believe it's 4 years this year!

Anyway that's enough from me and my memories for one evening! Leaves me to give you the card details!

The Card Ingredients

Stamps: None

Inks and things: Printer Ink

Papers:Black and Red card from Paper Mill Direct. The stripe is from a set called Lady Bug from MY Grafico

Who's Getting Married In The Morning?

... Well Not Me! Hehe
But my hubby's cousin is and I am rather excited! In fact I am on my way there now as this post is going out :)

I've been thinking about this card for a long hard while! I've seen something around that I've wanted to have a go at for a while. Thanks to my lovely friend Melly from Mel's Craft Room I was able to give it a go!

I'm talking about exploding boxes! Yup, I know I've done one before but this is a wedding exploding box! With a cake and everything! I've admired them for a long time! In fact this particular one was inspired by a post I saw at Lisa's at My craft Empire. Her box is most definitely! Wowzer!

So here is my shot at the Wedding Exploding box... Well a teaser picture first! I made a kind of set of two creations so we could actually leave them a message. There isn't really room to write in the box :)

Can you guess the theme? LOL!? Well I actually... I don't know if its the theme or not! The invitations had butterflies on and they were purple and pink but I've heard nothing else about the Wedding.... but hey it can't mean they hate them right!?

Before I move onto the box.. a little detail about the accompanying card.... The BG paper is handmade by stamping lots of butterflies onto white card. The butterflies are from a Papermania set HERE.
The big butterfly is printed and coloured using brush markers from Papermania. The big butterfly is by AI Factory. This is one of my all time favourite sets from AI factory. So versatile.

So anyway! Card over! Onto the main event... The Box.... Okay I'm ready to put you out of your misery now ;)

There's the box! I'm really chuffed with how it came out! The dimensions of the box is 4" x 4" so it's quite big! But looks so magnificent. My hubby asked if we could keep it hehe!

As you can see much of the detail of the actualy sides of the box is repeated from the card. I used the same big butterfly and printed it 3 times. The butterfly background paper was again the same.

I've got some close up pictures of the cake itself!

Its 3 tiers and each tier's size is 7cm x 7cm, 5cm x 5cm and 3cm x 3cm. Its essentially 3 lids stacked on top of one another!

I did wonder how it would all stay together, but magically it does, although I wouldn't want to be throwing it around all night!

Each of the tiers are wrapped in purple ribbon and have faux pearls stuck around them. As you can see each tier also has 4 flowers on each corner and a purple flower on the top.

I really wanted to do butterflies as per the lovely example by Lisa I posted earlier... But could I find a butterfly stamp anywhere... NO!

I swear whenever I don't need one its all I see... But when I went out looking for one I couldn't find one at all!

So there you have it Ladies and Gent's my first attempt at a Wedding Exploding Box. My next mission is to transport it to the wedding without squishing it...... And no I don't think I'll be making a box to put the box in hehehe!

Hope you've enjoyed taking a look and that I haven't whittered on too much! I've had plenty of caffeine to keep me going tonight... And I've still got to pack yet! Whoooops!

So that's it for now!

Happy Bird-Day

Squawky Squawk! Hello my lovely crafters How are we all today? Has there been ANYYYYYYTHING at all that may have given you a hint as to what this card may contain?? *chuckles*

So I have been perusing the world wide web, as one does and was browsing the CDAC site when I came across a shiny designer!

Make way people for the one and only

Lia Stampz, digital stamps

Okay.... are you back with me now? Good! You can go and visit Lia again soon!
Now how awesome are those cutey-patootie designs! ya ha! Like soooo totally quirky cute! I had one of those rare moments looking at the site going ... ohhh I like that, and that... and that.... and that.... and that.... you get my drift ya? Before I knew it I was in sweet Lia Love!

Now Lia isn't new to designing, looking at her blog shes been around a while but she is finally getting the recognition she deserves! And to tie in with this she will soon be starting a challenge blog and is looking for some Design Team members!

I could not resist! So armed with Kiki the Parrot and an upcoming birthday I got in my crafting perch and created this:

How cuteeeeeeee is kiki! And so versatile, it took me a good few attempts to get the colours I wanted for kiki but finally settled on Green and Yellow!

I coloured Kiki using my coloursoft pencils again.... new favourite or WHAT!? And the yellow paper was embossed using my shiny new texturz plates!

The letters I typed in word over the green colouring and printed and cut them out. I VERY carefully used double sided tape to attach them in the right order! Hahaha! Clumsy me would most definitely have switched a few letters around tehehe!

The finishing touches come in the form of Kiki's eyes! I wanted to bring 'em alive a bit so used some varnish to give them some sparkle!

You can just about see it in this photo here! Oh I had so much fun with Kiki! I have 3 more versions printed out and ready to colour.. I'm thinking a bit of Blue and Red might be awesome! And also wouldnt Kiki work well as an owl? So versatile!

Lia's DT Call is open until June 30th and all of the details can be found HERE

I do hope you've enjoyed my little creation and introduction to Lia!

This just leaves me with:

Ants on Parade

Yay Its another father's Day card!
This time Laurie Wilsons Ant's are the star of the show. These critters are the most adorable ever! And such a dream to colour :)

I used a colour palette from the Come and Get it Challenge blog for this card!
I wanted to keep it clean and simple! Those ants are too adorable to not be the centre of attention hehe :)

I used some glossy varnish on the trumpet and the gold parts of their marching hats which you can see in this picture:

I used my shiny new coloursoft pencils again to colour this along with the baby oil/paper stump technique. This is my new favourite at the moment. I've always wanted to try it and never had the right pencils!

Here is one more photo of the Ants on their parade! This awesome set also comes with sheep and birds! You should check it out :)

I added the words Dad on to the flag using GIMP. The flag comes blank but with some sentiments which can go in there included! Laurie thinks of everything :)

Before I go to that I will apologise for my very long absence, hubby and I have had an awful lot going on... I won't bore you with it but it looks like everything is going to be okay :) suffice to say time was not plentiful and unfortunately I had to quit two of my design teams... *sob*

So the card!

I had so much fun with this card! I followed the awesome sketch at Papercraft Star
The stars were done using my new shiny nesties!
Here is a couple of close ups

The funky letters were PAINFULLY cut from my awesome letters from Pink Petticoat! (Link below) I use these letters so much! Although my poor printer squeals every time I print them in black! I tried to do a couple of sticks coming out of the stars almost making it look guitar-y! He is a bit Rock 'N' Roll!
