Great News

You may have noticed I have been very quiet the last week, that is because my darling sister has been in a long labour and has jus given birth to my first Neice Emily Mary Pearson.

She was born last night at 7.01pm and weighed 7lb5oz. I can't wait to snuggle her :)

Having A Whale of a Time!

Good Afternoon Crafters!
Guess who is back :)

After a horrendous week of illness I am finally on the mend and back with some cards!
This first one is for my dear old uni housemate who is 30 today!! Haha!

He loves all things nautical so I wanted to initially do something with a boat on! However after looking around for inspiration (Thank you to Split Coast Stampers gallery) I settled on a whale!

My card is based on an awesome sketch at Friday Sketchers

What I did though was turn the sketch on its side! Now... what you have all been waiting for::

Isn't it so so cute! Not really looking like a 30 year olds card! But none the less, it might make the strain of turning 30 a little easier on him :D

Here are a couple of close ups!

Now for the ingredients

Stamp: Whale and Baby (Which i edited) from Whimsie Doodles

Inks and things: Paper pieced the whale, Blue ink for the sea background, black ink for the sentiment and black outline pen for the faux stitching.
Papers: Kraft Paper (from Stash) the two coloured background panels from The Creative Cottage
Odds and Sods: Bakers string from stash and Eyelets from my Crop-a-dile :)

Hope you like it! Hope he likes it!

I am entering this into the following challenges::

Friday Sketchers: Sketch
Stamping with the dragon: You Got Ink (blue sea background and the Ahoy There)
Papertake Weekly: 3 of a Kind (3 little eyelets)
